We've MOVED from this site
Due to renovations in Scott Hall, the Learning Resources Center is temporarily located in the Armory/Convocation Center. Our books, microfilm and periodical backfiles remain in Scott Hall, and the LRC staff will be retrieving them on an "as needed" basis. In other words it's the Information Commons, our indexes to most materials, that is located in the Armory; the actual resources are now in a closed area, and the staff will recover them when needed.

The Dabney S. Lancaster Community College LEARNING RESOURCES CENTER provides its college community with one of the larger library collections in the VCCS. More than 49,000 items, including magazines, video cassettes, compact discs, and computer programs, are indexed in the On-line Public Access Catalog and are arranged on the shelves for easy access. A wide array of services is available to students on campus and from a distance, faculty and staff, community residents and non-profit organizations.
Library Services and Information
Services to the Faculty
Along with traditional printed material and media, the completely automated LRC maintains full-text and full-image databases on CD-ROM and through the Internet. Several unique resources are available through the Virtual Library of Virginia, a consortium of academic libraries sponsored by the State Council of Higher Education and other sources of information via Internet access. (Some commercial sources may be restricted to the faculty and students of the VIVA consortium) An online reference chat room service, sponsored by the Virginia Community College System, is available for registered students, faculty and staff with VCCS e-mail accounts. See LRCLive.
